About the Swindon Foster Carers Association (SFCA)

The Swindon Foster Carers Association is an independent, carer led organisation supporting
foster carers, children, and young people across Swindon. We exist to strengthen the
fostering community, promote wellbeing, and ensure carers feel valued, informed, and
connected.

We work closely with Swindon Borough Council, partner agencies, and the wider fostering
network to advocate for carers’ needs, improve communication, and help shape positive
change.

Our mission is to:

 Support foster carers with practical help and emotional encouragement
 Build a strong, inclusive community
 Provide opportunities for learning, connection, and wellbeing
 Represent carers’ voices at every level
 Promote the best outcomes for children and young people

SFCA is run by a dedicated team of volunteer directors who are passionate about fostering
and committed to making a difference.

Angela Covey

Angela Covey
Director & Chair, Swindon Foster Carers Association (SFCA)

Angela has been a connected foster carer for eight years and brings a blend of lived experience, warmth, and steady leadership to her role at SFCA.

With a background in wellbeing, holistic therapy, trauma support and neurodiversity, she’s passionate about creating nurturing, therapeutic environments for children and supporting carers across Swindon.

Angela leads with kindness, clarity, and a strong commitment to helping foster families feel valued, connected, and supported.

Carolyn Lynch

Director

Carolyn Lynch has been a dedicated foster carer for over 15 years, providing a safe, caring, and supportive home for many children. Throughout her fostering journey, she has created lasting memories by giving many children the opportunity to experience their very first holiday.

Outside of fostering, Carolyn enjoys keeping active by walking every day, valuing the physical and mental wellbeing it brings. She also regularly meets with fellow foster carers, appreciating the friendship, shared experiences, and support that come from being part of a strong fostering community.

Helen Wing

Director & Events Coordinator, Swindon Foster Carers Association (SFCA)

Helen is a volunteer Director at SFCA and is deeply committed to supporting foster carers and strengthening the fostering community in Swindon. She brings warmth, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping families feel understood, valued, and connected.

As part of the Events Team, Helen helps plan inclusive, engaging activities that bring carers together and create positive experiences for children and young people. She believes every voice matters and welcomes ideas from the fostering community to shape events that are enjoyable, accessible, and meaningful for everyone involved.
